Nominations for AUDE Deputy Chair

10 January 2017      Cheryl Pick, Projects and Engagement Manager

Dear Colleagues

AUDE needs to appoint a new Deputy Chair to take over from Mike Clark (Brighton) when he becomes Chair at the next annual conference (April 2017).  Representatives of member institutions are invited to take part in the selection process for this role.

Nominees should be the main AUDE representative of a full member institution. They do not have to be currently serving on the Executive Committee.

Nominations (written or emailed) from the representatives of full member institutions must be received by me (AUDE Secretary) by no later than 12 noon on Wednesday 1 March 2017.  Each nomination needs to be supported by two proposers, both of whom need to be AUDE members.  My contact details are at the bottom of this e-mail.

In the event of more than one nomination being received, an election will take place in advance of the Annual General Meeting.

The AUDE Senior Executive (officer) group comprises the Chair, Deputy Chair, Previous Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.  There is an automatic succession from Deputy Chair (one-year term) to Chair (one-year term) and then Previous Chair (also one year term).  The individual appointed Deputy Chair in April 2017 will therefore become Chair of the Association at the AGM in 2018.

At the 2017 AGM Trevor Humphreys will stand down, Mike Clarke will succeed him as AUDE Chair, leaving the vacancy for the Deputy Chair.  A list of current members of the AUDE Executive committee can be seen on the web site at:  http://www.aude.ac.uk/about/executive/

Details of the election process can be found in the Association’s Constitution which is available on the AUDE website (http://www.aude.ac.uk/about/constitution/)  Please note that the constitution allows for the introduction of an online voting procedure, which we will be implementing this year if required.  Should an election be necessary I will send out further details, but in essence, it will be conducted electronically prior to the conference, with the successful candidate being announced at the AGM.

Notice of 2017 AUDE Annual General Meeting

The Association’s Annual General Meeting will take place on Monday 10th April 2017 during the annual conference in Manchester.  Agenda items and papers for the AGM should be emailed to the AUDE Executive Officer (jane@AUDE.ac.uk) by Tuesday 15 March 2017.

Regards

Stephen
