25 April 2017 Cheryl Pick, Projects and Engagement Manager
One early highlight occurred shortly after the opening plenary with Professor Malcolm Press, vice chancellor at MMU, and it was a visit and formal address from HRH The Duke of York. Prince Andrew drew on his experience as the Chancellor of the University of Huddersfield to give a short speech to delegates and enjoyed viewing our 25th anniversary video.
I’m sure delegates would agree the AUDE award and gala dinner was another high point of the conference, reminding us all the excellence achieved in estates and facilities through talented individuals, teams and innovative projects. Read more about the winners and highly commended.
On the Monday afternoon members attended our AGM where the role of AUDE chair was formally handed over from Trevor Humphreys (University of Surrey) to Mike Clark (University of Brighton). Thanks and gifts were presented to Trevor for his leadership over for the last 12 months and to Sue Holmes (Oxford Brookes) as her role as past chair. A special mention was also given to Andrew May (University of Hertfordshire) for leading AUDE’s press and PR which will end in May 2017 as he leaves to a new role outside of the HE sector. Keith Lilley (Sheffield University) is unopposed as chair elect.
With too many moments to do justice to in a brief write up, please enjoy watching the highlights video below.
