Chair vacancy for London and South East region

07 March 2018      Jane Harrison-White, Executive Director

Following consultation with the executive committee and regional chairs we are pleased to announce the merger of London and south east AUDE regions. The south east region has unfortunately been without a chair for some time and have therefore missed the opportunity to meet and network with peers.

We are now actively looking for a director or deputy director of estates to step forward and chair the newly merged region.  With full support from the AUDE office, this is a unique opportunity to lead the HE estates agenda both regionally and nationally, raise your own profile, that of your institution and add to your own personal development.

The role has a term of three years with an option of a further three years if re-elected.

To express your interest or for an informal chat, please contact Jane White, AUDE executive director by 29 March: jane@aude.ac.uk | 01509 22 88 36.

Duties include:

  • To facilitate the meeting of AUDE members within your region at regular intervals
  • To plan the meetings and chair them
  • To represent your region on the AUDE executive (four meetings per year) and produce a written report on your regional work
  • Feedback to your region discussions held at the executive meetings
  • To promote AUDE and the associations overriding objective to provide strategic support and innovation to those involved in estates and facilities management within higher education.

AUDE support

  • A £2000 regional learning and development budget to help the group gain access to the very best and cutting-edge information
  • Personal support from AUDE’s executive director
  • Practical support sourcing meeting venues, speakers, member liaison and communications

The chair has autonomy of their region and is encouraged to conduct regional events in a way that meets the needs of his or her members and we actively encourage the inclusion of deputies at these meetings as well as directors. Please see the AUDE constitution for the full remit.
