HE Shared Legal is a dedicated, subscription, legal guidance service for the HE sector. The service opened on 1 May 2012. On 1 May 2015, HE Shared Legal Limited, a company limited by guarantee, assumed responsibility for the operation of the service on an independent basis. Since opening for business, it has published more than 450 items of generic guidance and attended to nearly 700 individual legal enquiries. It has published general guidance material on a wide range of subjects including consumer credit licences for HEIs, electronic communication in procurement, and the VAT cost sharing exemption.
