The best in the business?

In the third year of the AUDE Supplier Award, will you join past winners Hassell Studio and Buro Happold as organisations we think really are amongst the best in the business?

Every single university estates team is aware of the enormous help we get from our top suppliers in every single aspect of our work. There is no detail where a collaborative effort between university and supplier is not necessary – whether that is on design and construction, retrofitting older facilities, energy and sustainability, or every detail of facilities management. Where is your organisation’s expertise, and how has it helped our universities this year?

We’re looking for suppliers with a great track record of work for university estates teams and projects. Any supplier can apply no matter what their size or specialism. The winner will be announced at the gala dinner during #AUDE25 at Cardiff University, together with the rest of the AUDE Awards winners for 2025. Tickets for that ceremony will be on sale shortly.

Judging criteria

Judging of the AUDE supplier of the year award will be undertaken by a panel of senior AUDE members. This panel will consist predominantly of AUDE’s Executive Committee members.

In order for AUDE to assess your application we want you to detail:

  • One major project/service or initiative you have delivered within the last 3 years
  • How you have supported the sector in general terms.
  • How you have worked with and supported AUDE.

The award has 50 criterion available for judges to award, allocated to each element as shown below.

  • Project performance and achievement (10)
  • Clients brief met, evidence and success (10)
  • Transferable learnings to a wider audience (10)
  • Support for sector and AUDE (10)
  • Supporting evidence (10)

Entry Process

Eligibility

  • This Award is open to any supplier of any size
  • Each nomination must be supported by the university director of estates (or equivalent) at the institution that your main submission initiative/project/service was undertaken.
  • The Award category is judged on predefined criteria, based on a points system as detailed above.

Deadline for entries is Friday 17 January 2025.The judges will meet in March to decide and confirm the winner. The winner will be announced at the gala dinner.

Submitting your entry

In order to submit your entry for one of the six award categories, simply click on the Enter here button. You will be taken to the applicant portal (hosted by Evalato), where you will be asked to register an account. Once you have registered, you can access the applicant portal in two ways:

  • by clicking on the Access your registration button or
  • via the registration confirmation email with a login link and a PIN.  This will be emailed to you once you have completed the registration form with your email address. You will also receive a personal link to your portal – keep this safe!

Your entry must be written and submitted online using our awards platform (hosted by Evalato). Once you have created an account, you will be able to access your entry, dip in and out and see how you’re progressing.

We’ll ask for some information about you and your company and encourage our entrants to use their creative flair and provide a piece of supporting evidence. This isn’t mandatory and should only be used to support the information being held in the main online entry. There will also be a section to easily link URLs and videos.

Please do not use the video as a replacement for text in the entry boxes as all of these sections have marks to be gained. The video should only be used to support what you’re already saying in your entry.

Please upload your video to a hosting site such as YouTube or Vimeo and then paste the URL into the box indicated when completing your entry.

Don’t forget to include any passwords in your entry if they’re required!

Working on your application

After you log into the Applicant portal, you will see your entry or entries listed on the left side under My entries. You can click on the entry you want to work on and fill out the respective fields and information, upload files, add links, etc.

You also have a copy from application option visible on the applicant portal that allows you to use data entered in another entry with the same application form fields to pre-fill the corresponding fields on the entry you are currently working on. If you have more than one entry you can copy the information from, you will need to select the one you want from a list. The system will then ask you to confirm your decision to overwrite the application data.

Saving your application without submitting

You have the option to save your work on the applicant portal without submitting it for review and submit it at a later time. To do that, click on the Save as draft button at the top right corner of your screen. The system will display a message that the application was saved as a draft.

You can resume working on your entries by clicking on the Edit button at the top right corner of your screen.

Submitting and resubmitting your application

After you have finished working on your application and are ready to submit your entries for review, click on the submit button at the top right corner of your screen.

The system will display a confirmation message that your application was sent for review.

If we need you to resubmit your application or make changes to it, you will see a Resubmission requested or Changes requested message on the Applicant portal. You can resume work by clicking the edit button and then resubmit by clicking the submit button.

You can add an entry/entries by clicking the Add entry button on the left side under My entries. Clicking on the button will open up a menu with options. Select the one you want and click Add entry
