07 March 2019      Corinne Merriman, Events Manager

Last week’s Civic Trust Awards ceremony held at the Imperial War Museum of the North, saw HEDQF members garnering a slew of Awards and Commendations.

Of particular note was Founder Member Cambridge University picking up two awards for their Storey’s Field Centre/Eddington Nursery and the Simon Sainsbury Centre at the Judge Business School. The latter was designed by HEDQF Founder Member - Stanton Williams.

Founder Member UCL scooped an award for their  Wilkins Terrace project at the Grade 1 listed Wilkins building in Bloomsbury. Designed by HEDQF member Levitt Bernstein, this elegantly crafted and sensitive intervention has transformed a former service yard into a fine piece of public realm.

HEDQF were also represented north of the border with Founder Member, the University of Edinburgh picking up a well deserved award for Page and Park’s (member) beautiful remodelling of St.Cecilia’s Concert Hall and in Wales, Grimshaw (member) won an award for Bangor University’s Arts and Innovation Centre.

Other HE recipients were The London Business School, St.Peters College Oxford and the Royal Academy of Music.

Commenting, Julian Robinson Chair of HEDQF said: “It was a pleasure to attend these awards and see the HE sector recognised for its civic contribution to the built environment.“
