CLAIRE FOWLER: ENVIRONMENTAL & SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER Claire is one of the approximately 2,500 SSE employees who have transitioned from a high carbon to a low carbon energy company. With 15 years of ESG and safety management experience, she previously worked for Royal Dutch Shell on offshore gas platforms and onshore gas plants both in the UK and Iraq. Now, at SSE, Claire is responsible for developing and delivering our sustainability plan in alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals and science-based targets 1.5o pathway, mitigating the impact and risk of our renewable projects on the environment and society, and raising awareness of the urgency and importance of protecting our people and our planet. 

ADRIAN WADDINGTON: SMART ENERGY SYSTEMS, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER With experience of 25 years in the construction industry and 12 years in the energy sector; Adrian oversees Business Development, Bid Writing, Account Management and Account Development for the SSE Smart Energy Systems (SES) Team. With a focus on Energy Performance Contracts linking to special projects and investment opportunities; the Adrian and the SES Team provides a wealth of knowledge and experience of tried, tested and trusted technologies alongside innovative applications of current and emerging technologies. 

PAUL WYNNE: PROPOSITION DEVELOPMENT MANAGER Paul has over 30 years of experience in the energy and waste sectors with previous role responsibilities covering techno-economic design, project management, investment governance and business change leadership. Paul combines his passions for sustainability and solution development within a role supporting estate owners to develop real world business cases which deliver system resilience, cost and decarbonisation commitments. 

ALEX TURNER: HEAD OF COMMERCIAL Alex has 10 years’ experience within the construction and energy sectors, working with a range of public sector and private sector clients across all stages of the project lifecycle. Bringing experience of a wide variety of sectors within the UK domestic energy market, Alex brings together the commercial, financial and legal strands of a project into streamlined low carbon, high value solutions 

AVI BAIDYA: HEAD OF CLIENT DEVELOPMENT: UNIVERSITIES & HE SECTOR Avi Baidya brings over 30 years of experience in delivering turnkey energy efficiency solutions to end users in the academic & industrial arenas. Beginning his professional career as a BMS HVAC design engineer, Avi’s experience spans various roles across Project Management, Training, Marketing, Global Product Management, Project Development and Business Development. His energy solutions career includes senior placements in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and more recently 6 years in North America. Avi’s passion to help create a better world of energy for future generations drives him in his current role in delivering decarbonisation solutions for the University & HE sector for SSE.
