Title: Making sustainability affordable – recognising value creation
Date: 24 June 2026
Time: 15.00 16.00
Venue: Teams
Current budgetary constraints, pressures on student numbers and inflationary pressures, are creating additional burdens for Estate Directors. Institutions are increasingly focussed on the need for decarbonisation and greater sustainability but are these aspirations affordable?
This webinar will discuss the opportunities through intentional design to shape a compelling campus experience whilst embracing sustainability ambitions. The question is not about affordability but value creation.
The role of design to create multidisciplined, adaptable and inclusive environments which are future-ready to support the changing nature of teaching, study and learning
The opportunity to realise sustainability goals without compromising the design intent through clear, verifiable carbon and cost measurements
Alternative collaborative, outcome driven procurement approaches
The importance and role of data and AI-driven asset management in achieving value driven outcomes
Opportunities for delivering efficiencies and returns, as well as helping to drive the broader institutional strategy: excellence in teaching and learning, community engagement, and a positive staff and student experience.
The presentation will include case study examples of how Universities have achieved desired outcomes with a focus on value, not just price.
Why attend?
Estates and Facilities Management are undoubtedly challenged by budgetary constraints. This webinar doesn’t shy away from the issue but helps to highlight the longer term, value creation opportunities through sustainable design and outcome driven performance metrics.
