AUDE (the Association of University Directors of Estates) is a UK-based membership organisation that has been working for over thirty years to support estates/facilities and property/commercial services teams in universities to be better equipped for succeeding in their challenging jobs. More than 180 UK universities are members of the association. AUDE also has members in Europe including in the Republic of Ireland and Malta, as well as in Hong Kong. We collaborate actively with peer organisations in the United States (APPA), southern Africa (HEFMA) and Australasia (TEFMA). While our roots are in the UK we know that the big challenges we face often have a global dimension, and we believe our outward-facing attitude - in which we seek to partner with those with similar challenges right across the world - is the right one.
Does UK Higher Education have the answer to all estates issues? Well certainly not. We struggle with rising costs on capital development, energy generation and more, and we guess you do too. We struggle with the immense challenge of climate change, and we guess you do too. Problems? Yes, many. But we do some things well, and have some good ideas. Our guess is you might say the same. Some good. Some gaps. Why don’t we have a conversation to see if we can help each other fill in those gaps?
AUDE is open to conversations with universities across Europe about how we might work together. You’ll get a flavour of who we are from some of the recent resources that we can share with you, below. Membership of AUDE is open to universities across Europe if you think we could help you – at an annual subscription fee dependent on the size of the institution. One subscription covers every relevant member of estates/facilities staff, whether that is one person or several thousand.
